Guest Post: Dressing for the Party Season

* I received a request earlier this week to place a guest post on Vacant Lake, which is something that I hadn't really considered before, but gleefully accepted the proposal and decided to publish this post, written by Skye, on the blog.

If you are an aspiring writer or fashion and beauty lover and would like to feature on Vacant Lake as well, feel free to shoot me an email at abbey@vacantlake.com.au for an enquiry. *

The party season is finally here, and with it a social calendar overflowing with fabulous events and parties. The best way to avoid a potential what-to-wear crisis is to update your wardrobe with the latest fashion options of the season. This year it’s all about embellished cocktail dresses, metallic clutches, statement jewellery and a pair of killer heels.

The Dress

Get the party started with a sassy new frock. This season is about the wow factor – turn heads with bright shades, loud print and figure-hugging sexiness. Anything from soft floral prints to all-over hot pink and sparkly sequin dresses are a stand out this season.

Bags and clutches

Be party-ready with a cute clutch purse to complement your dress. If you really want to be noticed, go for metallic or glitter. Jazz it up with a banana yellow clutch or tone it down with a suede purse. Remember, if you’re sporting a glitzy frock; balance out the look with understated accessories.

Statement Jewelry

Complete your look with a few gorgeous statement accessories; a chunky ring, bangles or pretty understated earrings. You can also opt for a necklace with beautiful detailing and matching earrings.

Show Stopping Shoes

Add some sparkle to your stride with fabulous glittery heels, or channel your inner hippy with tribal-inspired pattern wedge sandals. Dazzle onlookers with platforms, they are great for lengthening those pins.

Now you know how it’s done! It’s time to head out the door and really show-off your party look.
